Question about torches and meth
use
Okay, this is going to sound so dumb,
but could someone explain something to me. I know that those small
butane/propane? torches are a sign of meth use in many cases. How
exactly are those things used for meth? Are they for heating up and
smoking it or something? I know how stupid that sounds....I just
don't know a lot about it. The reason I'm asking is because I keep
seeing a small torch around. I questioned my husband and he claims
he uses it outside for burning things or some crap. I wondered how
meth addicts use them. |

Re: Question about torches and meth

Torches and Zippo lighters keep the
fire on without having to keep your thumb on a button to continue
releasing the lighter fluid to maintain a flame (as you would have
to do with a regular cigarette lighter).
So basically -- it's a lot easier to keep a flame on with a zippo or
torch type lighter. |

So, then you use them for smoking meth? |

Re: Question about torches and meth

Yes, the torch is used for heating up
the meth and turning it to liquid form. When it liquefies, it
produces the smoke. It then cools and "ices" back over to a solid.
The solid can be reheated and smoked until it is all burned up or
gone. |

Re: Question about torches and meth

Unlike a cigarette that remains lit
while you smoke it. Meth must be continually heated while being
smoked. So keeping your thumb on a regular lighter button is a pain. |

Hey cleanandserene!! You are right, I
forgot about that. Amazing what we forget!
No question is dumb! The only thing that is dumb is to have a
question and not ask it! |

Re: Question about torches and meth

Like someone had said, yes, the small
torches are usually used to clean glass pipes. And when you do it
for a while, you actually can learn to glass blow pipes!!! What a
dumb new talent I have! |

Re: Question about torches and meth

I see. Well like I said, I've found the
torch but I've never found any glass pipes around the house. That's
why I didn't exactly know what it was used for. Thanks for the
answers. |
