Chicken soup, lots of water and juice, rest. The common cold will just run its course in a few days.

If he's congested, you can use saline nasal drops. I have thyroid disease and can't take cold medications containing decongestants.

As Mary Mary said, there are ways to survive a cold w/out medication.

as far as I know....cold pills will not test him positive.

Drug tests test for amphetamines. In order for a pill to test positive for amphetimine..it would have to broke down.

I could be wrong......But I don't think I am.

Okay here's where this arrogant *** is coming from.
If I was set for random UA, I wouldn't want to risk the chance of any positive results.

One, because a Judge will see a positive (hot) UA, and that could be an instant remand (jail ) before full analysis could even be fought about.

Well I can tell you I know this list is wrong. I have taken some of those on that list with in three days when I took my drug test for CPS. They did not ask what I had taken but it came back Clean as a whistle. I have a friend that works in a lab and she said that they test for certain chemicals in the drugs. Ask a doctor they will tell you the same. Now if you take to much of one thing and abuse them then maybe yes you will but then I guess you kind of asked for what you got because you took more.

It would be rather risky to take cold medication if the judge and persecutors, uh, excuse me, prosecutors are hot-shot types, trying to get more convictions.

i quit taking everything except ibuprofen and Tylenol sometimes an antihistamine, but not often and stuff a very well-informed doctor prescribes

erm...

I really don't know the name of the chemicals in them these days but it's reached the point there are a number of cold medications on the market that do *not* contain psuedoephdrine as an ingredient.

That's all you have to watch out for (to my knowledge)... so if you go to a local pharmacy just read the backs of the boxes... and pick something up that has no psuedoephedrine in it.

And yes.. pseudo will make you get a false positive for *some* tests. I know they told me not to take anything with it in them while I was on probation.
