Gambling Addiction and Meth Addicts

lynne Gambling Addiction and meth addicts
someone brought up the topic of gambling while high and i recall my ex had a gambling problem.
many nights when he was gone all night he was at the casinos.
funny he did 12 step for gambling but wouldn't do it for meth.

it seems the two addictions go hand in hand and boy must they lose a lot of cash since they are wired for days.

yeah lynne, every one of the meth addicts I have met or known cept my bf were at the Indian casinos many nights of the week. Lots of dope dealin at the casinos, lots of chicks pickin up guys and scammin, way to make money for more dope, and lots of time to tweak. It's made me hate the idea of even going to a casino here.

I had a friend or at least the bf's friend who worked for me a bit, that was an addict that was married with 3 kids and had a good construction job and he spent every extra second he could getting dope and going to the casino. I talked with him many times about getting help, going to a meeting, and the only thing he would ever admit is that he had a gambling problem and would go to a GA meeting.

I also told him about this website and told him to tell his wife she would be very welcomed here...I know she must be hurting terribly. She has a mini spa& salon and I imagine pretty soon his addictions will destroy that as well.

lynne, we must remember to be thankful that we weren't married to the meth addicts we loved and do everything possible to fix our pickers.

the reason i brought up gambling is that is alot of money for dope, the price of meth here is the lowest in 30yrs,unless getting the whole block high.

Trev's friends also went to the casino's alot. Trev went a few times but hates losing money and didn't see the point. Yep he would have rather taken apart his jeep at home than go out and gamble. He was using when he did this so either way it sucked. But he said there were tons of people there that used and were trying to scam either other, etc.

I used to go to the Casino at 3 - 4 AM and play the slots, sometimes win, usually lose, and always think I was going to find money laying around on the road on the way home (Meth delusion, I suppose) so I could go back and lose some more.

Casino's are full of meth ghouls at that time of night, at least the one's here are.

Now I'm too stingy to go to the Casino, I only go when my Mom and Dad want to come visit and play... and still, once I start playing, I want to play dollar machines because if I win, I want to win a LOT - screw those nickle machines
Once an addict...

Plus, the buffet is nice.

meth ghouls
i guess since casinos are open all night it is the perfect place for them.
my addict did not have a regular job so he could stay up all night and do this. what a life. i try to take care of my looks.

meth addicts could not care less it seems. staying up all night gambling not eating right not exercising, ruining your teeth and hair losing your money at casinos without money to buy new clothes and shoes.

no vacations! what a life. i mean how can they lose money gambling and on meth and with meth they would gamble ALL NIGHT. that is a lot of money down the tubes. house always wins. then the meth whores who prey on them and the other meth addicts. can anyone be safe in such a world?

As you can see by reading this board, Lynne, A LOT OF US are in recovery. We aren't bad people, but when we are using, we sure are sick people, and SOME of us do bad things.
Some people do bad things without using any drugs at all.
How can we do the things that we did? Meth impairs your judgment. Common sense isn't a part of the equation when you are under the influence. That's not an excuse - I did really stupid, really bad things when I was using, and it's gonna take a lot for me to make it right now that I am clean. However, it is what it is. People who are under the influence don't have or use very good judgment.

As an aside, if you really want to "stay safe in such a world," we better take a look at alcohol too, since it is involved in far more violent crime, death by auto accident, etc, than meth is at this time.

There are as many drunks in those casino's as there are meth addicts, FYI.

Way more drunks in the casinos than meth addicts....
lynne, the anger needs to be channeled. I know.
Today, I am going to do some work on organizing a HUGE bunch of crap that I have left in a mess for too long because of my anger over the whole methmadness and loss of someone I love.
I just gotta make myself do something positive or at least do something that has to be done. I am going to use my anger to work harder at it. I'm not happy about doing it alone but I gotta do it. Gotta keep living.
I have an alanon meeting tonight to look forward to. I channel my anger there into positive-I basically learn to understand it, accept it and then literally, it disappears...course, it creeps back usually right after I leave, but it's not as powerful.
I wish for a lot of things but little by little, those wishes are for me only.
I really do want to go to vegas...with recovering people
