hi,
i used to come here quite often about 2 years ago. my wife was "out there" doing anything and everything she could to stay high constantly. she finally went for treatment in a 30 day rehab facility. after treatment within a month she relapsed one time. now almost 2years later i see the same process starting over. the lies are starting, money going nowhere and long times of not responding to phone calls, new ppl in her life with questionable backgrounds. i have one question about a phone conversation i overheard. i hope someone can help. I've searched everything for the term she used and found it nowhere. she told her friend on the phone the "maxi pads are not good enuf, i need something better, i find myself pacing all over the house all day." just to let you know...she had a hysterectomy 4 years ago... so what is "maxi pads"? thank you all for your reply's, and stay sober for your sake and those that love you. |

Was she aware that you were listening in.If not why would she talk in code.
Maybe they aren't good enough...Some woman have heavy cycles that
require more than just a pad.If not could that be the case.Or If she knew you were listening,
I would read that what shegot..Now this is only speculation may have been bunk or bad stuff.You don't
tell enough about the rest of what happened before or after the phone call.
Did she leave or meet someone..Is she sleeping o.k.Etc. |

Welcome back.
I came up empty looking for a "maxi pads" definition, it could be a code term she and her friends use.
A definition for maxi-pads seems like a moot point in light of what you're seeing first hand, most of what you listed describe classic meth addict behaviors.
Take a hard look at the overall picture and I doubt you'll feel a need to play detective and stress over details any longer...the writting appears to be on the wall.

She was talking in code. I used to do it all the time when I would call my dealer to see if she was holding.
As active meth addicts we are convinced that "they" are listening to our every word, and surely the law has our phones tapped. My code word was "tires". I was always looking for "used tires". Now how stupid was that? To call another woman and ask her if she had any good used tires? I thought I was so clever! LMAO! |

yeah me too... sometimes the code translation seems rather odd or random to all but those involved...
for example i might ask the guy to pick up...
a quart of guacamole = 1/4 oz of pot
and
a gallon of horchata = gram of chunky meth ( Usually I had to explain to the dealer cuz he couldn't remember my code!
any guesses what that translates to? |

I would guess a quart of guac is code for a quarter gram, and the gallon would be the gram.
Yep, you got the tire thing right. Then there was the question, "You got any big ones?". That meant an eightball. How dumb. |

Talk to her about things -communication is key. Usually where there's smoke there's fire. Looking back --- I always knew but was afraid to ask. That little voice inside - listen to it. |

im sorry this is watershed, i thought i was logged in as jones824. i started this thread. she has always been paranoid about people listening in on her calls, so this is not unusual behavior. the last time she "went out" she used code words also. I know she is using. thats not the issue. i have set down and told her what im seeing in her behavior and she denies everything. typical relapse mode. im trying to figure out what she is using (i dont suspect meth....yet.) im trying to get her to see what shes doing to us and our kids. her 14 yo sees the same things i am, a very impressionable age.
the 14 yo turns 15 in 10 days. we are buying him a used 4-wheeler for his b-day. her mom offered to pay for it. today i came home to my wife handing me $1500. Just as i suspected i checked her wallet and it had $500 in it. she is now gone to a neighboring town and will come home ......broke. I am a detective again, weather i want to be or not. i have yet to discuss this with her mom, but will. her mom is so trusting and enabling. well thanks for listening and the great advice this time around as well as the next |

hi again my update,
she got home after leaving friday at 5 on sat morning at 2 am, she was high. we talked, argued all the normal things and finally she admitted she was and has been for 2 weeks using crack. $1000 dollars GONE. Her mother had given her $2000 to buy her son a birthday present. we went saturday to pick up a used 4 wheeler for her son. had $1500 to spend and had very few choices. we settled for a 250 honda ex (2001 model) has a small hole in plastic on front, and seat has small rip in it. all in all a decent 4 wheeler. setting next to this one was a very nice one no holes no tears very little wear and tear. they wanted $2000 out the door for it. im so ticked!!!!!
she didnt seem to care that her drug use caused her son to have to settle for what we are giving him. thanks for listening |

I'm sorry for your pain.
I also hope you can be strong enough to get her away from you and your son. You must protect him first and foremost. She is selfish and dangerous to him.
In many states your child can be taken by CPS if you allow a known drug user to be present or to bring drugs into the house.
You obviously cannot trust her to not do so.
File for legal custody of your son - change the locks and get a restraining order.
The sooner you detach and let her fall on her ass completely the better chance she has of feeling consequences and maybe she will choose differently.
I know this will be difficult and I'm sorry for what you are going through but dea lwith it swiftly and resolutely.
